COOLUM, Australia, 28 July 2005 Press Release:
Microsoft Australia today announced the Small Business Specialist Programme, an offering to help small business customers quickly and easily identify technology partners best suited to support them.
“Small business customers want technology that is designed to meet their needs and more importantly, they want someone who understands their business,” said Ms Pip Marlow, Director of Small and Medium Business, Microsoft Australia. “We have developed the Small Business Specialist Programme to help customers when it comes to choosing a Microsoft partner that is best able to address small businesses needs.”
To qualify as a Small Business Specialist, Microsoft partners must pass two examinations, the first one is a technical examination on a specific product or service the partner has expertise in, for example Small Business Server. The second examination is a small business sales and marketing skills assessment.
Once qualified, Small Business Specialists will have access to targeted resources, training specifically designed for the small business industry, small business marketing materials, special partner offers and the ability to use a Small Business Specialist logo in marketing material to help customers identify their expertise.
“Microsoft already offers software that has been custom made for small businesses, like Windows Small Business Server 2003, and now we’re taking another step forward with our commitment to support small businesses transform the way they do business and deliver value to our customers,” Ms Marlow said.
